Summer Fun

Before school was out, we started taking advantage of playing outside more!! We usually try to wait until the evening when the house shades the backyard. We got the kids a new playhouse from Costco. It has a pretend grill, sink, water/sand buckets, and basketball hoop. We also started to pull out the blow up pool and then got a new water splash mat as well. Both kids really love to play outside and especially in the water so they have been having a blast together.

It has also been nice because Eric has been grilling out a lot. Steaks, grilled corn, potatoes....yummy! It's nice to have those family nights at home:)

Additions to Connor's vocabulary list:
"I press it" (when he wants to press a button), book, 'quack' for duck, 'roar' for lion, 'moo' for cow, 'Where's belly button' (looks for it) then says 'there it is', thank you,
cookie...
Today he pulled Jessalyn's hair (one of our new bad habits), I told him to tell her he was sorry, and he laid his head down on her lap and said "sorry", then I said "you are not to pull sissy's hair, okay?" and he said "okay". It was so cute (even though he was getting in trouble).

Dance Recital

Jesslayn's Dance recital was at UTA in May 2010. This year was a smaller recital year, so she did a tap routine called "Think Pink". She absolutely loved the song and did great on the dance. She was front and center, and it is so much fun to watch her excel at something she loves.

Hello?!?

Well, I realized I was at the bottom of Jessica's blog list, and knew I was about to get booted. Ha! Ha! I can't believe I have not blogged since January!! Well, actually I can, because I feel like life just blows by me sometimes. Anyway, we have been keeping busy. Jessalyn finished kindergarten reading on a second grade level and being the Art award winner from her class. She also had one of her pieces of art at the district art show, which was exciting for her. She had her dance recital, which I will soon post pictures of. She loves to dance and will continue next year. Connor has really been blossoming lately. I can't believe he is almost 2!! I feel like we just had this precious baby and now he is a precious little boy. He is talking so much more lately- "I want to see" "I got it" "Where is it?" (looking around) ball, puppy, sissy, mommy, daddy, cup, fish, cracker, nana, papa, gran, grandpa, and many more that I can't think of right now. He is seriously the cutest thing ever! We went to a music class this morning, and he was dancing and singing in the middle of the circle. The teacher even said afterwards that she hadn't seen anyone so young at the first class participate so much and sing in tune....he is really musically inclined, which I take some credit for of course! We also went on a week long vacation with our own little family of four. We had a blast, and I will have a post about that later on :)
Well, there is my little recap of life lately...more to come, with pictures! (I promise)
